OAJC Luncheon Lecture Series 2009-10
LEFT - Pulizter Prize-winning reporter Richard Read from The Oregonian, was the presenter at a sold-out Luncheon on April 20. He spoke mainly about the global implications of Chinese economics and business, focusing particularly on his recent front page article on Chinese factory workers. He also showed a brief video documentary that he had done when in was in China reporting for that story. 







RIGHT - Natan Meir, Lorrie I. Lokey Professor of Judaic Studies at Portland State University, speaking at the OAJC Luncheon Lecture on February 5 at the Living Room Theaters. 

BELOW - Sister Pat Nagle (center) reported on her experiences at the 2009 Copenhagen Climate Change Meeting at the January Luncheon Lecture program. Coincidentally, she spoke during a power outage throughout the downtown area where the luncheon was held!

 









Marcus Mundy of the Urban League of Portland gave a presentation on the "State of Black Oregon" at the December 2009 luncheon and Dr. Mel Kohn, Oregon's top public health officer opened the series in November with a talk about H1N1 virus and other public health issues. He is pictured below with Diego Rimoch, owner of the Living Room Theaters where the Luncheons are held.
